Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks– Swatches

IMG_3428

I have to say Jeffree stars liquid lipstick formula is pretty incredible. It doesn’t feel cakey and doesn’t come off when you press your lips together like others. It also isn’t as drying as I expected. His lipsticks are $18 each and are currently sold out but they should return in March or April I believe.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kits–Swatches

IMG_3150-0

These contour kits retail for $40 each and are only available online for now at www.anastasiabeverlyhills.com (they are temporarily off her website since she is working on getting another server) but they are also available at www.macys.com. They will be available at Macy’s impulse stores at the end of March.

They currently only come in 3 shade kits, light, medium, and deep. A ‘fair’ kit is currently in the works and will be available soon!

I was surprised at how pigmented these creams are, they give a lot of coverage but at the same time they blend easily so you won’t be left with harsh lines. The creams also do not leave the skin feeling oily like others I’ve tried and don’t have a “slip” to them either, so they don’t just slide around on the skin.

Here are swatches of each of the kits:

Ombré Lips using Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks

I don’t typically like to wear ombré lips out and about unless they’re very subtle, I do however have fun coming up with different color combinations.

For this one I applied ABH liquid lipstick in sad girl all over then added a little bit of ‘party pink’ in the center

This one might be a little to crazy for some but I did this one just for fun. I applied party pink to the top lip and pure Hollywood to the bottom lip and blended the two colors in the center.

Simple everyday brows using Anastasia Beverly Hills

I used to be all about dark defined brows, but recently I’ve been liking lighter and more natural looking brows.
2015/01/img_1002.jpg

To achieve this natural everyday brow I use three products:

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in dark brown

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills brow powder duo in dark brown

3. Clear brow gel

First I lightly underline my brow along the natural arch using dipbrow for definition and blend the line upward.

Next I take the darker shade of the powder duo and use it to fill in the outer 2/3 of my brows then use the lighter shade to fill in the front.

Lastly I apply clear brow gel to keep the hairs in place and it helps the powder last longer through out the day.

(I apply the the two brow colors using anastasia Beverly Hills #12 brush, but any angled brush will do)

Skin care: TruSelf Organics Detoxifying Mask

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/878/48717027/files/2015/01/img_0209.jpg
I have to say putting on face masks is my favorite part of skin care! I love how clean and smooth my skin looks afterwards. This mask from TruSelf Organics is my new favorite! It is all natural and has no parabens, petroleum, artificial dyes, or synthetic fragrances.

To use the mask you mix the powder with equal parts water and then apply like you would normally apply any mask. I would suggest using upward motions since the mask does get really stiff, it will help keep your skin firm and give you a ‘lift’.

It’s made from a blend of natural clays that draws out bacteria and toxins from your skin. It clears pores, assists with acne, unevenness, and wrinkles.

I truly love this mask! I use it once a week and I find that to be sufficient since I have dry skin. If your skin is on the oily side you may want to use it twice a week.

They’re having a special that’s good till January 30, 10% off with the code loveyourskin15.

Neutral glossy lip using Sigma beauty

As much as I love my matte lips, I love a good neutral glossy lip in the winter time. Especially since my lips get chapped easily during winter, wearing a gloss keeps them looking healthy and hydrated!

Sigma lip base in Indulgent
Sigma lip vex in all heart

I applied the lip base all over first and since its a pencil I didn’t need a lip liner or anything, then applied the lip vex (gloss) over that.

Fullips Enhancer Review!

So its no secret that big lips are so in right now. Everyone is still obsessing over Kylie Jenner’s lips, are they real, did she have surgery? is it just lip liner?…Her lips are quickly becoming one of the wonders of the world. I used to without question think she had some type of injections but after noticing that the size wasn’t really consistent, I really think she uses fullips, or some type of lip suction device because these can really plump up your lips if you use them enough.

Okay, so I have to admit I’m a huge skeptic when it comes to things like this. I always feel like its too good to be true. For those of you that haven’t heard of or seen these they’re basically these little “cups” that are made of durable plastic that you place to your lips, suck the air out of them to create suction and it pulls blood to your lips plumping them up and making them appear fuller. The results are only temporary and last a few hours but you can repeat as needed throughout the day. They are described as being “A lip plumper that never runs out” which is true, you don’t have to keep replacing these like you do with plumping glosses and other things of that nature.

 www.fullips.com

They come in 3 sizes

(click on any of the photos of the 3 sizes to take you to the fullips website)

Large Round

Best for overall fullness on both top & bottom lips,
or if you already have full lips and want to enhance them

Large Round

Medium Oval

Great for women with thin lips or smaller mouths. Also allows you to
target larger sections at a time

Medium Oval

Small Oval

Best for targeting specific areas such as the cupids bow, center of mouth

Small Oval

They can be purchased individually for $19.99, in a 2 combo pack for $35.99, or in a 3 pack for $49.99

Fullips 3 Pack

At first I thought that it wasn’t really necessary to have more than one but after I started using them I noticed that each one really does work differently to create a different effect and to target different areas. So I would recommend at least 2, the small oval definitely to target specific areas and define your lips, and either the large round or the medium oval depending on your lips.

To use Fullips you simply hold it up to your mouth, (you can apply some water around your mouth for better suction)

then suck the air out of it and it should stay on your mouth without you holding it. It did take me a few times to figure out how to get it to stay and to make sure not to create too much suction because i’ve heard people can get bruising. Its best to just start small and not over do it until you figure out what works for you.

This is my before and after, I used one of the techniques from the Fullips YouTube channel, which can be found HERE

Before/After

I used the large round for all over fullness and the small oval on the cupids bow. I didn’t do it too much because its really easy to go overboard and just keep going and going to see how big you can get your lips, but let me warn you they can get pretty big. Thankfully it is temporary and usually lasts 2-3 hours on me depending how much I use them. I did notice that it didn’t last long when i first started using them probably about 30min-1hr but the more I used them and the longer I used them, the effect seems to last longer now. You can see that it adds volume and plumps them up and creates a pout. My favorite part is that it helps smooth out fine lines on lips so lipsticks go on so much smoother and easier.

Bottom line, I really do love these! If you’re looking for a way to get fuller, more voluminous lips I’d say to give these a try. They’re pretty effective without having to use any needles or any type of plastic surgery which is what won me over since I’m definitely too scared to try anything permanent.

Gerard Cosmetics Cherry Cordial Lipstick Swatch

IMG_7575.JPG
So it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks. They’re matte but the formula is really creamy. I have the worst dry lips but these lipsticks didn’t dry out my lips even more through the day which is amazing!

Their newest color is Cherry Cordial and I just couldn’t resist getting this color. It’s a beautiful deep red that’s perfect for fall.

You can purchase their lipstick at http://www.gerardcosmetics.com and they also sell glosses as well.

Here is a swatch of Cherry Cordial

Gerard Cosmetics Lipsticks

So everyone has been raving about these lipsticks from Gerard Cosmetics, I already have 1995 but they are currently having a sale that I could not pass up so I decided to go ahead and get the rest of them.
I really like the formula, they’re matte but not drying on my lips. The lipsticks sell individual for $19 but they are having a sale the 5 pack of all of their lipsticks for $45 (which normally goes for $95) with the code GCdeal45, I believe the deal lasts till the end of October. I couldn’t resist since I had been wanting their other lipsticks but wasn’t willing to pay $80+ for the other 4 haha
