Eva Longoria Inspired Makeup

Eva’s makeup was done by the celeb makeup artist Etienne Ortega, he has to be one of my favorites! He always does awesome looks.

It was kind of hard to recreate the look and have it look exactly like hers since I’m not as tan as she is, but I tried! Haha

How To: Eye Brightening Concealer

I used to never wear concealer! I never owned one, never even looked at them, and didn’t even really know how to use them until recently. Now concealer is my favorite part of doing makeup, it really makes a difference in your look!

Things needed:
-full coverage concealer 1 shade lighter than your skin tone
-liquid highlight/highlighting concealer
-blending sponge

These are the ones I like to use

♥ Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi in Nude

♥ Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in Fair

♥ L’Oreal Magic Lumi

First take your full coverage concealer (Revlon PhotoReady) and apply it underneath your eye and extend it down to the tops of your cheeks and out past your eye

(The reason you want to bring your concealer down is to prevent reverse circles where your under eye area doesn’t match your face)

Then take your liquid highlight (I like to use both a highlighting concealer and a liquid highlight but you can use just one if you prefer) and apply several little dots on top of your concealer. You can apply more or less depending on how luminous you want it to look.

*I like to add Maybellines Dream Lumi because its a gel based concealer so it helps keep my concealer from creasing and it lasts longer.

Next take your damp blending sponge and blend your concealer and highlight. I like to take the sponge and apply a little to my brow bone as well for highlight. Use dabbing motions instead of rubbing to give it a smooth finish. It’s best to use a blending sponge and not a brush because brushes tend to leave it streaky.

Once it’s all blended apply your foundation on top using the blending sponge and the same dabbing technique, finish with your favorite setting powder and you’re done!

See how it brightened up my complexion! I love it, it’s my little secret to always looking like I got a full nights sleep! 🙂

Revlon PhotoReady Primer + Eyeshadow [Metropolitan]

Revlons PhotoReady line has a lot of great products! I have yet to try something from it that I dislike. So it was no surprise to me that I became a fan of these eyeshadows as well. I purchased the metropolitan one to try and all of the colors in it are gorgeous! The shadows are a bit powdery but just tap off your brush before you apply them to avoid fall out.

It comes with 5 shadows to create a look with

1. primer
2. lid shade
3. crease color
4. browbone highlight
5. sparkle top coat

On the back it has a little diagram and description on how to apply them but you can apply them any way you like and create several different looks! Since I am a huge fan of glitter or anything sparkly, I’ll sometimes wear just the gold sparkly one by itself. I wish they would sell that one as a single eyeshadow because its such a pretty color!

Clutch Essentials

We all know that clutches aren’t made to hold that much stuff. I’ve figured out some ways to cut down on the amount of products I carry with me for a night out. These are the only 5 things you need to stay looking flawless throughout the night!

1. Mascara 
2. Small liner brush
3. Cream blush
4. Single eyeshadow
5. Concealer

• Concealer can be used to touch up your face when your foundation starts to fade, instead of carrying the whole foundation with you.
• Your mascara to reapply if needed and can double as your eyeliner as well! Just take some mascara on your liner brush and apply it just like you would a cream liner.
• The cream blush can be used as your lip color too! Just make sure you take a color that you wouldn’t mind wearing as a lipstick and you can reapply blush if needed.
• Your eyeshadow can be touched up with your finger (just make sure you wash your hands!)

and thats all you need, clutch essentials to touch up your look without lugging around a whole bunch of makeup with you! 🙂

Simple Gold and Teal Eyeshadow Look

Products used:

• ELF pigment eyeshadow in Tropical Teal
• Urban Decay YDK shadow
• L’Oreal HIP gold charge liner
• Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black
• Revlon PhotoReady Mascara

1. First I like to apply a primer then apply the teal eyeshadow all over the lid and under the lower lashes
2. Next take YDK and blend it from the outer corner of the eye into the crease and apply it to the outer lower lash line.
3. Then take a black pencil liner and line the upper lash line to help lashes look fuller
4. Once thats done take your gold eyeliner and line your upper lid and lightly line the lower lash line.
5. Finish with mascara and you’re done!

Revlon Grow Luscious Lash Liner

When I purchased this eyeliner I didn’t buy it to help my lashes I bought it because of how smooth it looked. I am always skeptical when products say that they help lashes grow so I wasn’t expecting anything out of it. The color I got was Onyx and it is a blue based black, it is very creamy and goes on very smooth with little effort. I was worried that it would end up all over my face by the end of the day since creamy liners usually don’t last long but this one held up well. After about a week of using it i noticed my lashes didn’t fall out as much when I removed my makeup. I wouldn’t say it helped my lashes grow longer but it did make them stronger and less brittle. This is definitely one of my favorite pencil eyeliners.

Luminous or Matte Foundation?

I like both luminous and matte finishes for foundation. I usually decide which one I’m going to wear depending on the weather and how long I want my foundation to last. If its hot/humid outside or I want my foundation to last longer I tend to go with a matte foundation since those tend to last better on me, but if the weather is nice or I don’t need my foundation to last all night I’ll usually go with a luminous foundation. As much as I love buying high end makeup when it comes to foundations I prefer drugstore brands only because I’d rather not pay $40-$60 every time I run out of foundation. These two foundations are my favorite drugstore picks for a luminous and matte foundation.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation has a luminous finish and makes my face look flawless! Several people have told me that this foundation made them oily, but since I have normal to dry skin I did not have an issue with my skin becoming oily throughout the day. I like to apply it with a beauty blender type sponge and it really does make my skin look just amazing! The only issue I did have with this foundation is that it dried darker than it is when you first apply it, so I was glad I didn’t choose a darker shade.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation dries to a matte finish and has pretty good staying power. I expected it to feel like the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse but it actually feels more like a cream. My first thought when trying it was “Ohh noo, this foundation is really thick and is going to look like I have tons of makeup on!” but a little goes a long way and once it dries it looks really good. I’ve tried to apply it with different types of brushes and sponges but it looks best applied with your fingers. I hate having to use my fingers to apply foundation to my face for many reasons, so that would be my only issue with this foundation.
