Skin care: TruSelf Organics Detoxifying Mask

I have to say putting on face masks is my favorite part of skin care! I love how clean and smooth my skin looks afterwards. This mask from TruSelf Organics is my new favorite! It is all natural and has no parabens, petroleum, artificial dyes, or synthetic fragrances.

To use the mask you mix the powder with equal parts water and then apply like you would normally apply any mask. I would suggest using upward motions since the mask does get really stiff, it will help keep your skin firm and give you a ‘lift’.

It’s made from a blend of natural clays that draws out bacteria and toxins from your skin. It clears pores, assists with acne, unevenness, and wrinkles.

I truly love this mask! I use it once a week and I find that to be sufficient since I have dry skin. If your skin is on the oily side you may want to use it twice a week.

They’re having a special that’s good till January 30, 10% off with the code loveyourskin15.

Skin Care Routine!

I get asked on instagram how to get foundation to look smooth and even. Even though primers do help, they can only do so much. My tip is having a good consistent skin care routine that works for you. It doesn’t have to be super extravagant with a million steps or expensive products, as long as they work for you. My mom always taught me that it’s best to stick with products from the same line because they’re all chemically made to work with each other. So I try and make sure my face wash, toner, and moisturizer are all from the same brand or line.

These are the products that I’ve been loving at the moment.

Neutrogena Cleansing Towelettes (hydrating)- the first thing I do is I ALWAYS take off my makeup before I go to sleep and these are my favorite wipes to use! I have dry skin and other ones I’ve tried leave my skin really dry or give me an allergic reaction, but these are amazing! They leave my skin so soft and hydrated after using them.

Mary Kay Oil-Free Makeup Remover- I’ve been using this for years! I use this mostly for removing eye makeup/lipstick. (I also like to use it while washing brushes to remove stubborn concealer/foundation) It takes off every last but of mascara, eyeliner and lipstick stains. What I love most is that I don’t have to pull and tug on my skin.

Neutrogena Visibly Even Foaming Cleanser- My best friend introduced me to this! I absolutely love it. I was using it when I was out of town and saw it working immediately. When I came back home and started using my old face wash (also neutrogena) my skin went back to feeling patchy. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skins texture it really is more smooth and even, which also helps my makeup goes on smooth.

Mary Kay Facial Brush- this little guy does an amazing job of taking off my makeup and exfoliating my skin, I use it with my visibly even face wash. It has two speeds and it’s the perfect size for you face. It allows you to get right around the nose area easily.

Neutrogena Visibly Even Moisturizer- I love the way my skin feels after I apply this! It leaves my face so soft! I also love that it has sunblock because I’m really bad at remembering to put on sunblock and I can’t afford to forget UV protection in these Texas summers, so this takes care of that for me.

Prosacea Multi-Symptom Relief Gel

I absolutely love this stuff! It can be used to treat redness, rosacea and even pimples. I don’t have rosacea but I do get occasional pimples. I like to use this as spot treatment and it works great since it treats redness. I like to apply it on the area at night and by the morning the pimple is usually gone or I’ll apply it before my makeup and it helps the redness go away so the pimple isn’t peaking out through my makeup.

Seaweed Mask!

This mask does wonders for my skin! it helps even out my complexion and my skin just feels so smooth afterwards! I just use seaweed sheets that I buy in the international aisle at my local grocery store. Seaweed contains Vitamin B Complex which enhances circulation, enhances the lifespan of skin cells, promotes oxygenation of the skin, and also keeps skin from getting inflamed or puffy. Deficiency in Vitamin B Complex can cause irritations such as itching and rashes.

  1. I like to start with a clean face, then I tear off a strip of the seaweed and soak it in a bowl of warm water for about 3 minutes.
  2. After it has soaked for 3 minutes I take the seaweed and rub it on my face till my skin is covered with the little bits of seaweed and let it dry. Don’t get freaked out if it starts to itch! Its just tightening on your skin.

This is what it should look like

3. Once the seaweed is all dry I rinse it off with warm water and a damp towel. Then follow with my normal toner and moisturizer.

and there you go! Your skin should feel amazing!
